    Police Deaths

I am doing a project for my school and I need to know what are the highest police officer deaths in the United States. I can't seem to find anything on an online search. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you cannot find it in the search engines, certainly cannot tell how many officers died in the duty, it will give other problem students the idea of doing something wrong..even if you want to make a project..it's not a good idea to ask...better ask like how many officers are in the U.S.A. how they were trained, how they get salaries and who pay them, and why the officers work in every city, what does "protect and serve" mean..does it has a special meaning..etc..not how many officers died in the line of duty. <shivering>....

Ditto...ODMP is the best place for statistical data, and that sounds like what you're looking for.

Because...to me, it's not a good question a teen would ask... knowing something is wrong in the middle of the question.

The FBI makes a Law Enforcement Officer Killed Summary yearly. I look it up and have posted it here before.

Use those terms and Google until you find it.

I also believe that the DOJ Dpet of Justice has such info available.

If ATAYLOR80 is doing a legitimate report regarding officer deaths in the US, there is nothing wrong in his quest for info. One shouldn't assume that it is for evil purposes or that he has a fixation on the subject.

I know but that question just spooked me. He may do some good, but the other students who read may get a wrong idea. I hope once he finished his project, he should hide it at home and keep it to his heart after he gets a great grade on his project. Usually, teachers would post the projects on the walls/doors of the school building instead of handing back their projects. I like the other questions better which prompt the students to think about their future careers. <sigh>

If he is doing a legitimate report on the number of LEO deaths in the US, it is NOT going to cause other students in the class/school to go out and try to kill police officers. In fact, they may gain a new appreciation for the work we do and how many of us DIE in the line of duty every year.

Chill people, not everybody who reads statistical data on unpleasant subjects then goes on to contribute to future data on the same subject !!
