Chill people, not everybody who reads statistical data on unpleasant subjects then goes on to contribute to future data on the same subject !!

Sorry if you can't comprehend what I am saying Wolf. I am a LEO and don't have a problem with what Taylor is doing. In fact it is kind of a bold step to bring to light an issue that MOST school students don't care much about because they don't know anything about the true number of officers who die every year.

So it means that Taylor wants to do something better to bring the students to understand the facts why the LEOs are here and why they have to die in the line of duty. Right?

Well, now that I think back on it I wrote too fast. I do think now that if the report is written correctly, that it could open the eyes to some high school students. As someone has already said, it could let them see what LEO's have to go through.
Thanks Star for my Star Avy!

And also to give them an idea of taking the opportunity to join the LEO family career and what they get in return; benefits, vacation, fun discounts to Disneyland and Legoland, etc... like my son, he got his poster placed 1st during the Family Day in the Park sponsored by city PD. He has a strong idea what the community and PD should do by workin' together to make the community a safe place... still after the poster contest, gangsters don't care...<sigh> My son does care. Oh, well.

    Umm,
Ok, now I know I have no right to say this sence I am NOT a cop, but I was just wondering if this kid ment to say something like "what is the highest cause of death amungst cops" or something to that effect? As I read the post, I got the feeling he/she was tring to determine what the hightest cause was. Like if it was "shootings", " car wrecks", drunk drivers, heart attacks ect.....

But then again, what do I know......lol

He just wanted to know how many officers die in the line of duty. His quote as "highest police officer deaths in the United States." Not the cause of deaths. Or he may wants to collect some informations beside the number of deaths. He is doing his school project. Which can help other students to think and if they want to do something for US and communities, they are welcome to join in the LE family and be part of the communities and families. I hope he gets an "A+" for the project.
