I am not a cop, and am saying so as not to misrepresent myself or my opinion.
Racial profiling does exist. Racist cops exist, just as racist doctors, shop keepers, and custodians exist. This is unfortunate, but true. Maybe you were the victim of racial profiling, or maybe you were not speeding and an honest, and good, cop made a mistake. Or, the third possible option: you were speeding, got caught, and either can't accept that, or jump to the conclusion that you were profiled because you've been mistreated before and this is a reality to you. My point is that all of this is irrelevant to the situation at hand: you have gotten a ticket, for whatever reason, and you have decided to fight it. If you have been wronged, I wish you sincere luck. My only suggestion it that you choose your defence wisely. Saying that you were profiled, without offering any evidence besides your race vs. the cops' race does not sound like a strong defence. You might be better off (possibly with the help of a lawyer if its worth the expense) explaining that you really were not speeding, how you know you were not speeding, and asking the officer if he feels there was any way he could have made a mistake. I would tell the truth, and tell the judge that if I were guilty I would not fight the ticket, that I would accept responsibility for breaking the law, but am fighting it because I do not feel I am guilty. Maybe the fine will be reduced, maybe it is dropped, maybe nothing of the sort, but what else can you do?
Oh, well. Majority rules I guess. c u l8rOriginally Posted by Whitewolf1970
I don't like it either, but am not going to instigate a "pissing contest" over it.

Just re-read what I wrote, and point out whay you disagree with, if anything. I said nothing wrong, and stand by my comments.
Huh?? Maybe...we turn green because we're envy of the siren lights? So the night vision helps cops to see if we're green or not green. Teehee.. Or someone guess we're eatin' too much green vegetables so we turned into...green giants??? :eek:Originally Posted by Babysmamadrama
