    Legal question about drinking

Ok say I were to throw a party which involved teenagers below the drinking age(apr.16-17 year olds) and my parents gave us the "ok" to do so.....and they were home at the time

Is this legal? Can anyone be charged? If so, who? The parents?...the kids drinking? Any other information would be helpfull

    thanks

Misdameanor in Michigan for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They will be arrested and fined for that. I can't remember the fine but its a heafty one. Also all kids will be ticketed for MIP and they will end up in substance abuse counceling and possibility of probation depending on their record.

If you throw the party with alcohol your an ignoramus and your parents need to have you and anyother underaged kid taken away from them after being beaten for allowing it. Thats my $.02.

Have a party w/o drugs and alcohol for a change. It might surprize you.

I would say that that is both a smart and stupid thing for the parents to do. As far as who's gonna get what...Parents in my state are held accountable for everything their children do until the age of 17. I guess it would depend on the Prosecutor and how many complained.

All of the above. Your parents can be charged with Contributing to the delinquency of minors, the 16-17 year olds can be arrested and turned over to Dept of Youth services, or whatever agency in your state processes juveniles.

No, it's not legal. Look at darrell's post.
Kids and adults would get charged. These parents should be charged for extra stupidity.
Here is the big part though, that neither you or the parents are thinking about: Kids come to your house, it's a great sausage frest with a bunch of guys sitting around drinking, etc. Then, all the tards decide to drive home drunk. One kills himself, or better yet kills another person. Your parents not only get arrested for supplying the booze, but will also get sued from every direction for all they are worth.
The parents described in the situation above are idiots.

Yeah, pretty much what happens when you get a bunch of teen guys in a basement drinking. The sexual tension gets pretty high with no females around. Not that I would know or anything :D

    Is this legal?
In Texas, a parent my supply alcohol to their own child, as long as the child is in sight of the parent. It is illegal to make alcohol available to a person under 21 who is not your child, spouse or legal guardian.

Can anyone be charged? If so, who
The parents can be charged with making alcohol available to a minor.

The persons under 21 can be charged with possession.

In Maine, it is illegal unless the parents of the underaged kids are there as well. If they are not there, then the kids get charged with "possession by consumption" and the parents get charged with furnishing and possible a few other things if they purchased the alcohol.

I would charge both parents with one count for every kid there.

In PA, Furnishing alcohol to minors ( defined as under 21 for legal purposes involving alcohol) is a Misd 3rd with a MANDATORY fine of $1,000.00 the first time ( plus possible jail time) and $2,500.00 the second time ( plus poss jail time) . There is NO minimum or maximum age limit so a 17 yr old can be charged for giving a beer to an 18 yr old.

You can't give booze to your own kids or anyone elses kids , period.

    It is also illegal to

Sell or furnish nonalcoholic beverages to minors ( any bev with more than .05% alcohol ) max $300.00 and or up to 90 days

Sell or furnish cigs to minors ( under 18) max $1,000.00 fine

Sell or furnish butane to minors ( under 18) $500.00 max

Sell or furnish stimulants to minors ( under 18)
    (ephedrine) max $500.00

No, I mean that when there are no females around, you have a bunch of teen guys sitting around talking about the ladies, and when you have 12 guys who have been drinking talking about ladies, they start to want ladies. Teenage males=programmed to think about women 24/7. :D
