I am good friends with a person who I am very aware deals drugs. My question is, if this person is caught dealing drugs and I am with them, will I be arrested even though I had no real part in it?

You will most likely be detained, and there is a good chance you will be arrested and charged with something. Especially if you are riding in a vehicle with drugs or you are at his house if he has drugs inside. I wouldn't be surprised if your "friend" tried to push off the drugs as yours when the cops show up. Drugs aren't the only thing you have to worry about with this guy, weapons could be a problem too. I don't understand why you choose to associate with them. It gives you a real bad rep too. Are you an aspiring LEO? I highly suggest that you look very closely at this situation and find friends with a more honorable profession (legal).
Im not looking to be a police officer no, I could never pull it off and when I became friends with this person i wasn't aware they dealt drugs. They don't have any weapons either but what would I be charged with (If they didn't say the drugs were mine) for just being there?
You can be charged with possession or intent to distribute as well, especially if you are in a vehicle with the drugs. They WILL find something to charge you with, could be accessory to a crime, anything. There is a very small chance that if you are with this guy when he gets arrested (and he WILL at some point, trust me) that you will get off free. You are fully aware of his activities, so why shouldn't you be charged if you are with him? You are old enough to know right from wrong, and have chosen to be buddy-buddy with a scumbag. What kind of dope is this guy dealing by chance? You KNOW this guy is a dope dealer, whether you choose to hang out with him or not from this point out is a matter of intelligence and responsibility.
Why would you be "good freinds" with such a person?Originally Posted by TheLivingJuliet

Remember those who died, remember those who killed them.
sometimes people you grow up with do that, tx. You know how that is, friends since you were babies, growing into seperate paths. Not unheard of.

Forgot to add, depending on the amount of dope this guy is dealing and if you are with him, you could earn yourself a drug trafficking charge with always looks great on your resume.
I'm friends with them because they've always treated me good and watched over me.
I don't know what they deal Metallic, not really. I haven't asked or looked.
Fair enough. I have 2 FORMER friends because they decided they wanted to peddle the Mary Jane. I don't care whether we were friends from childhood, I've got too many things going for me than to hang out with dealers.Originally Posted by ngcsubutterbar
Answer to question...Possbily. Because there is no real way to prove that you don't.
I would distance my physical presence with these friends. Just me.
What does growing up with a person have to do with it? You need to end a friendship with someone like a drug dealer?Originally Posted by ngcsubutterbar

you asked how someone could be friends with that type of person. I answered in a very friendly way how it could happen, I've seen it happen. Had a cousin that used to do it. Not saying he should be just saying how he could be.

And my answer still stands. He's a good person and he's always watched over me and treated me as a friend.Originally Posted by txinvestigator1
