It is an attached garage. I figure some mace / pepper spray would have been appropriate.. I figure she might apply for a concealed once I become an officer..

I've had this type of thing happen to me once before(not same scenario, but the guy stopped in the middle of a road to yell at my brother who was driving the vehicle)., and I was very frightened. There are many things that people can do, but one of which is to not back yourself into a corner. By pulling into the garage, she created what I call a "horror movie chase" because she had to get out of the car and run into the house with someone chasing her and her being very scared (you know, the girl ALWAYS trips, etc).
I would have driven on to a convience store or someplace public (our PD's aren't always manned) and stayed inside until the person left. If they continued following I would call the police.
If I were backed into the corner like your wife was, then I would just start screaming my head off for someone to call the police and screaming my address. If the guy just wanted to offer a heated critique of my driving, then the screaming would hopefully let him realize how intimidating he is. I would then ask the police to visit him and explain how his behavior made me feel. (when I worked at a gas station and ppl would scream and curse at me, I would say "You know, I am someone's daughter. I hope that nobody talks to your daughter like you are talking to me". It usually would shut them up)

Thanks for all the feedback. My wife knows the wife of the guy who was driving the pickkup (it was the passenger who followed her) Neither the driver or passenger knows my wife.. So she is going to talk to the wife, and let her know what happened. Maybe a few nights w/out nookie might make him think agian :P

Chrispix,
This may only feed the fire, it really maybe best to let sleeping dogs lay, if nothing further has become of it, maybe write things down while its fresh and stay observant for now just in case...there is more then a good chance "the nookie giving wife" will not see things they way you think she will or should..ask any LEO who has come to the aid of a wife in a DV situation, only to have the victim turn on the officer...
I can understand you & your wifes feelings on setting things right or whatever, but someone who has the balls to do what they did in the 1st place does not seem to me, like someone who has alot of good judgement or rational thought about them...you may just cause this situation to get worse, especially since they do know where you live, etc, which is nothing to take lightly these days!..my 2cents

Perhaps another reason and reminder for women to lock themselves in their cars and keep to a well lit area rather than trying to go home when faced with the situation you have told us about. I guess she was pretty shaken up however it does serve as a timely reminder to us all.
