    Question Mourning in San Diego

I am interested in finding out someone's opinion on a serious matter of mine. My father died 3 mths ago, upon arriving home to Va & listening to my mother's version of how it happened I detected many descrepancies in her story. I have spoken directly to the Battalion Chief in Hampton Va & they have assured me that my father was dead (and had been dead for quite some time) when the paramedics arrived on the scene, yet the police were not called, instead the medics transported him to the hospital. I have since learned that she was withholding his medications...my question...within a week after his death she had everything of his removed from the house, took his name off of all bank accts, house, vehicle, etc, her explanation for this behavior was that it was to painful for her to have rememberances of him around, yet she still has his false teeth & changes the water on them frequently?????? Is this an indication of some type of mental sickness. My sister & I have attempted to question her on certain aspects of his death, however, she gets very agitated & almost hateful, & tells us nothing. Anyone have any suggestions for me, or can anyone tell my why they think she may have continued to keep his teeth?

If he did not die in a Hospital and not seen a doctor within 72 hours prior to his death it would be an unattended death. In that case there would be an autopsy. If the coroners office thought the death was suspicious there would be an investigation. Maybe you can get a copy of their report. But if they have not lauched an investigation there most likely was no reason to question the cause of death.

Depends on the state... I guess Kansas has gone to if they have known medical problems and they die then its not unattended even if they wern't in the hospital unless we see something suspecious to lead us to think otherwise.
