    pulled over on motorcycle

I'm just curious. I was pulled over for speeding on my motorcycle a while ago. I was nabbed for doing 70 in a 55, even though I was going with the flow of traffic but whatever. My question is that the officer never asked me to remove my helmet. How did he know the person he was ticketing was the person in the license? This is a full face helmet, not a half or 3/4, so all the cop could see would be my eyes and parts of my cheeks. I just found this very odd that I could have basically given the cop the license of anyone and I would have been able to go on my merry way.

Just curious on people's opinions here on this and any possible legal implications the officer could be in.

It matters nothing, you got the ticket, deal with it.

I though this was "Ask a Cop" forum. Not a "Ask for more macaroni" forum.

I didn't question the ticket or my speed. I asked about not removing the helmet and verifying the person giving the license was the person pictured in the license. So I'd be happy to write you for "being an *** and not understanding the question", but whatever

Seems like a logical question to me. I couldnt tell you the correct answer because Im not a cop, yet. I guess the way I take it is it was just a common traffic stop, had it been something more serious this wouldnt have been an issue. Whether or not its procedure to ask someone to remove a helmet I dont know.

Actually you asked for opinions in general, and
any possible legal implications the officer could be in.
    You have received opinions.

The officer has no "legal implications".

I doubt you are going to receive advice on ways to beat the ticket on this website.

you know how many times i hear that "flow of traffic" BS? too many.

and why would the whole subject of being stopped for going "with the flow of traffic" be anywhere remotely relevant to identification during a stop?

so you provided the information and i expanded on it effectively offering my opinion.

i understood the question perfectly. i just didn't feel like answering it, but whatever.

gentleman keep this on topic. Does anyone have an answer to the question he asked. 'does it matter if a cyclist has his helmet on or not when you stop them for purposes of identification. If you can't answer the question then fine say so, but attacks will no longer be tolerated.

The Officer made a judgement call by not asking you to remove your helmet...apparently he didn't feel the need to do so. Maybe he thought he could identify you without having it removed, or maybe he just trusted you to be honest.

Most cyclists that I have pulled over in my career remove their helmets as I approach thier bike...whether its out of respect...or some other reason, I don't know.
