Wow, and I thought my State was restrictive.
Wow, and I thought my State was restrictive.
I used to think that Ohio could not initiate a traffic stop in an unmarked vehicle, but I've recently seen the local SD doing that in an unmarked Durango. I asked the next SD Deupty I saw and he said they had struggled withthe section of the law relating to the markings on a SD vehicle as having to be black, yellow wrigin of set size etc. he said there is a get-out clause there though that exempts vehicles if the SD can show that they could not use a marked vehicle for that task.
I disgraee that they are unable to use marked cruisers for speed enforcement, but I doubt anyone will fight a ticket on that. Even if someone tries to fight the ticket based uponthe fact that their use of anunmarked vehicle does not comly with the law regarding SD markings (ie a judge agrees that the unmarked vehicle is not necessary for speed enformcent) then I still don't see the judge throwing out the ticket...
In Virginia, the only time I MUST be in uniform is when operating radar.... anything other than radar, game on.
What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?
I can operate my RADAR neked if I wanted to. Of course, my Sheriff just might have a problem with that.
I'm not prejudice, I hate everybody equally.
some fl departments take pride in running radars in 'every day' ways, on top of crane lifts (fixing lights) window washer carriages, homeless guys, etc etc etc.

Anyway the reason he pulled him over was because he was driving in the fast lane and did not move over for the trooper when he flashed his emergency lights twice. my friend said the kid looked no more than 25 and he was dressed in shorts and a surfer t-shirt but had a glock IWB exposed. The trooper yelled at him and he claims the trooper was out of line.
My friend called the state police to file a complaint but nothing ever happened because he did not have his name, plate #, ID, etc.... My friend was really ticked off that the off duty trooper said, "You move out of my way when you see me coming, learn that. Don't you have any common sense, learn. Go back to school and learn you idiot"
I thought it was funny but my friend was offended, hahahahahaha
