    Shifts

What shifts do most of you prefer to work and why? I was just wondering.

Summer time we have 19h00 to 4h00 shift...
    That I like...

Lots of action and no petty calls.... going to bed at 4h00 it's always cool outside so I sleep better!!!

Rest of the year?..... Day shift.... only because I want to be with my familly at nigth!:D

I'm currently on day shift. It is okay but I like swings better. In a month our department is going to switch to 12.5 hour shifts on the weekends. I'll be working from 0700-1930 hours. Does anyone have any experience working on a shift similar to this. 12.5 hours seems like a long time to be at work.

I like my 1600-0000, lots of action, and you get both daylight and night time in the summer.

I always liked swing shift 1600-0100. Most of the time thats where all the action is.

It all depends how I am feeling, if I want a nice easy day then 0600-1600 is good. If I want to deal with domestics and dross then 1400-0000. If I want to do some real policing then 2200-0600 is best.
