Yep. Hit the weights. What's wrong with getting huge muscles ;) ? I reccomend you start out on the bench press, see how that works out for you. As a male, you should be able to see significant upper body muscle growth if you begin lifting.

And another big NY Department I work for!
We tell the recruits to do this till you can do your goal. But we instruct them to have a goal double of their need! If you need 35....your max goal should start at 70, etc... We also recommend you constantly keep raising your max goal as you progress. The system works well. In one class 52% failed then bench press.....we put them on this program......in 8 weeks we have the failure rate down to 10%. It also leaves for no excuses: I don't have acess to a gym....or didn't have time to go to the gym or the machien was broke, etc...

Joey...I know NY does not enforce a push up requirement, however do they expect a certain amount of push ups daily during physical training?

I am having trouble starting to do pushups after not being able to do them for some time, I am bench pressing and sholder pressing and it seems to help. I am having trouble at the very bottom at the floor (3 inchs from floor) when my arms give out. What muscle groups do I need to work for that motion?

I have been strength training for a month or so and am getting better but I would like to be able to do 30 or so if not more...

    Sugestions...

(And where I am the above 3 times will not work, I need to get core strength up first)...
