How can i go about contesting this speeding ticket in court?

So i got a speeding ticket when i wasn't speeding, i followed my friends to burgerking to eat and got there after them.. They infact were speeding but i wasnt. I was supposedly paced but the officer but he was no where in site. And on my ticket it was just written exceeded posted speed limit but he did not indicated what the speed limit was on the ticket. I am getting a ticket for something i didnt do and this is my 2nd infraction because i was involved in a accident 4 months earlier. Failure to yield the right of way but i never saw the other car. But if im convicted of this speeding ticket i lose my license until im 18... I want to know if i can apply for a diversion on this ticket or whatever to help me.. please help me my court date is tomorrow!!

This is not the place to come to find out how to "Beat" a ticket. We are cops, not Lawyers!

Well the other two drivers who recieved tickets, one has been to court to contest the ticket and the officer was not there. He judge didn't really listen to what the driver had to say so he ended up having to pay the fine. This driver was infact guilty though, I on the other-hand did not race. If the officer is not there should the case still procede?

Were you written for racing or speeding?

So why did you make the comment about racing? Me thinks we are not getting the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

There was 3 cars who got tickets at the same time. It was a two lane road and the 2 cars infront of me took off like they were racing. I was behind them and left the stop sign as you normally would. I went the speed limit all the way to Burger King and got there a few minutes after the other 2 drivers. The cop said something about racing to us but i was the last one there and i sure wasnt racing.

OK. Just plead your case in court.

..tell the judge you were 'pacing' the other two cars that were racing just ahead of you, so you could turn them in to the proper authorities, but while 'pacing' you also got 'paced' by a sneaky cop, who just happened to give "all 3 of you" tickets because you were all together, but your the only one that was not speeding!!
I think you have a case!! lmao

Just tell the judge you were driving HUA and he'll probably dismiss the case... :p

Now that attitude reaks of someone from the Sherman Block era.

Gotta love the California Deputy attitude... :D

"the officer was nowhere in sight"... "failure to yield the right of way but i never saw the other car". rather than trying to concoct a scheme to beat a citation perhaps it might benefit you more to start paying attention! "I didn't see the other car" and "I never saw the officer" holds about as much merit as "but I didn't know it was illegal."

As a fellow teen driver, I'm smart enough to know that you are leaving out at least half of the story. Most likely you peeled out of the stoplight or something like that.
