    Would these auto DQ me?

I just took a polygraph test for a medium market fire department(the fire department community does not have ask a firefighter so I'm hoping I can get my questions aswered here). I am 33 years old and was completely honest. I need to know if you think these ommissions might DQ me.
    1. admitted to smoking pot one time when I was 17 years old in 1988.
    2. admitted to driving while intoxicated in college. more than 10 years ago.
    3. admitted to being intoxicated in public or at a party.(last time 6 to 7 years ago.
4.admitted to using a friends expired ID to get into a club at age 17(needed to be 18 to get in).
    5.admitted to 5 moving violations since 16 years old.(only 1 since 1992)
Most of this stuff was during my teenage and college years.
    AM I SCREWED.
    Thanks,
    TACOKC

Like i said, The fire community doesnt have a forum like this. Since I took the test at the police department and it was adminstered by a poilce officer and the poly for both departments are very similar I thought I might be able to get an intelligent response to my question and instead i get WTF? i hope there not paying you for this job. THANKS FOR NOTHING

I was just pointing out the fact that the majority of members on this board probably aren't firefighters, and therefore probably wouldn't have a clue how to answer your question. Climb down off the ledge, sonny.

TACOKC - I don't know of any RealFire-esque websites, but ScanGwinnett.Com has a lot of firefighters on it, and might be able to help you out.... Gwinnett is a county in Georgia, just north of Atlanta, and the website is quite active with firefighters.

I think he made his point clear in his original post that he knew this was not a Fire Fighter site.

And thier are some firefighters on this site and Im sure someone will be qualified to answer your question.

He may have, but I just skimmed the original post anyway, having recognized the exact same questions that have been asked a million times. My point was that it is doubtful that anyone here would know if these things would dq him for a fire department. I am a volunteer hose dragger myself, and I think the majority of ff's you are talking about here are volunteer as well, and have probably never been through the hiring process he is asking about.

If you were applying to most police departments, chances are that none of those things by themself would be an automatic disqualifier. When you consider totality of circumstances, it is a judgement call by whatever police department you were applying to. It being a fire department, however, I have absolutely no idea. Personally, I would GUESS that those things would not be a major problem.

    A New Attitude...

I don't care if he made it clear there were no boards for FF or not. Read the second post and look at the attitude of "THANKS FOR NOTHING." He made his post sound like all these problems were in his teen years and he matured. Sounds like a baby to me, especially catching an attitude after ONE response. He would never survive in a firehouse if he can't take some honest facts being placed in front of him in a polite manner.

Thats because he got a bad attidude given to him first. (or atleast it came off that way)

It seems that all the veterans ever do on this site is bounce on the new people. I havent seen a new member recieve a warm welcome in a while. Its one of the reasons I bearly come here anymore.

And you sure do make alot of assumptions about his personality off of one post.

As Phuzz01 said, regarding a LEO job, none of those things would DQ you with the substantial passage of time that has occurred. I can't speak for a FD but I can't imagine that they would be much different.
