    Next Step Voice Stress Analyzer

My just finished the Background investigation part of the process. My BI said everything looks good and he will turn in his report either today or tomorrow. I guess the next step is the Voice Stress Analyzer test. Is it normal to be super nervous going in to one of those things knowing a machine can determine the rest of your life. I have two friends that took the Voice stress test in the past, they said it’s only about 20 questions. One passed easily. While the other failed and they gave him a few days to think about if there was anything he didn’t tell them. He wasn’t hiding anything and took it again and passed. This is all a for a July academy so I figure I will be getting a call soon about it. I don’t have anything to lie about I am really stressed on the verge of overly stressed out about it though any advice.

Maybe I'm wrong, but we got to play with VSA's many times in the military in Afghanistan and we always found them to be.....well, crap! Often times they would show truthfullness during an interogation and it would later turn out our subject was BS'ing every word.....and the same vice-versa. We probably would have gotten the same results from The Magic Eight Ball.
Supposedly, they are not as easy to fake as polygraphs (and before everyone bombards me with retorts, yes you can fake a polygraph) but I honestly believe they are a step up from tarot cards.

PS - a word of encouragement. I've heard stories of many investigators using VSA's with little or no training and in these situations everyone ultimately "passes". I guess they're really there to try to scare the truth out of you.
