    Martial Arts and LEO.

I was wondering how much training does a cop get in it. I was almost brown belt when I quit, and about a year from taking the black belt test. I was wondering what happens if someone with alot of Martial Arts skills challenged a cop? I know if your a black belt and use it its a deadly weapon. I think it would be a neat job to be a FBI agent.

The secret to understanding his posts is....
    1. Find large rock.
    2. Beat rock against head until you pass out
    3. Repeat until this moron makes sense.

This childish asshat is an oxygen thief. Hopefully, he has realized this and will not come back.

Im not getting my hopes up though.
My wife left me alone with a case of Corona, a bag of limes and the cat. Beer is gone. What will I do with the extra limes and the cat?

blk belt as a deadly weapon is a bunch of crap!! your watching way to many reruns of kung fu!!!!

Having experience in Judo, jui-juitsu, hapkido, is always a bonus, as most fights almost always end up on the ground. Then again experience in any combat art is a plus, keeping in mind that anyone can still knock your chickletts out no matter how much you know!!

My ex-wife is 5'4" and is a cop (still). Slightly built. Black belt First Dan Tae Kwon Do in the Rhee TKD school in Australia. Trust me, you would not cross her. If you wanted to take a martial art I would suggest TKD.

No kidding that's what I was going to say.

What kind of dumb#&2 would hit a cop, umm if you did know how to take a guy down, well then the cop will go down, but there are a thing called witnesses. And everystop a cop does, they say what thier location is and who/what car are they dealing with. So the odds you get away with something like that is 0%. And I am sure cops are trained great, the smallest movement a suspect makes, they look. And they have a gun/mace/laser w/e they WILL use these items for self defense. So all and all, don't use MA or anything on anyone just for no apparent reason.

I worked for two years in an opal-mining township in the far north of my state as a cop and except for specific jobs where we would go back to the station to get weapons we were totally unarmed. No gun, no baton and this is before oc spray was invented. And we got into a lot of fights. So we just had to learn to look after ourselves. It's better now, with proper equipment of course. OC spray has certainly been a boon to members in the field. And yes I wish I'd had access to it back then.

In my 18 yrs on the street I have come up against persons who claimed to me some sort of martial arts expert. It also so happens that they were either drunk, high or crazy. Of the few actual praacticioners of some sort of martial arts that I probably have dealt with, they said or did NOTHING to brag , boast or threaten the use of their skills. They respect their skills and know the right time to use them.
