I am in the insurance profession right now and want to do a career change to policeman.
What are some suggestions?

well, why do you want to be one?
I want the power baby!!! YEAH! Gun too. LOL J/K.
Why do you want to become an officer? My reason was "as simple as it may sound" to give back something to the community. To be able to help those in need. And on and on.
OH OH OH I know! Free Doughnuts at Krispy Kreme! :D

Tell them that you like to drive fast, kick *** and play with guns.
just kidding.
I don't think anyone can help you with this one. Eveyone has their own reasons for wanting to do this kind of work. I'm sure you know why you want to do it too. You just need to think about how best to put it into words.
How come your house has wheels and your car doesn't?
Why it's because of the uniform of course...

And of course the roar of the CVPIs on Cops is urging me quite a bit also...
How they make that quiet little buzzing sound, oh yah....
As I keep on saying, it beats working for a living.

Yea, everyone has their own reason, mine involved a little story, so just keep thinkin.
How about being original with your reply and coming up with it on your own ?![]()

That's what I tell people when they ask why I did it. It beats the HELL out of working a real job.Originally Posted by Oldbillplod

I'd stay away from the "helping people" answer.
Leave the action stuff out (driving fast, thumping people, guns, sex, rock n' roll etc...).
-Comraderie
-working with people who share the same values
-being outside and pro-active in not only preventing/solving crime, but helping the community with other issues as well that might not be criminal related in nature.
-the hiring process is so tough, it all but ensures that you (I) will get to work with quality people
