    Question about tickets

hey. i got a ticket a couple days ago for speeding. i live in delaware. some of my friends have told me that a cop can not give you a ticket if they are not wearing their hat because then they are not in full uniform. does anyone know if this is true because the officer who gave me my ticket was not wearing their hat. thanx

 He can give you a ticket if he is just in his underwear. Your friends are idiots

I wonder if anyone has ever fought a ticket and used that argument in court? That would be good for a laugh.

What, that the cop was in his underwear, it would get thrown out of court ;)

It is totally acceptable down in Miami Beach for a cop to be in his underwear while handing you a ticket. As a matter of fact some wear Speedos now with a g-string. Of course internal policy states that if you’re going to wear a g-string; “You must shave your hairy ASS”. Otherwise underwear and your utility belt is the way to go now that summer is coming....

I've been ticketed by a plain clothes officer before. He was very polite and was apparently working narcotics on the interstate. I was speeding and so he pulled me over intending to search me. When he saw how I'm such a square and all, he didn't even ask to search..

Oh well, if he is a young, fit stud the ticket would be worth it. Bring it on! Although this might encourage speeding. :p

Hell, I haven't seen my hat for at least ten years. Have no idea where it's at.

Hi Evolution VIII, welcome to the board! I see this is your first post, and let me apologize for some of the replies here that seem to be making a joke out of your question. In answer to it, no, it is not a valid defense and probably like these responses would be the same in court, but in a much more professional manner. Good luck.

To the regulars: I appreciate your continued support of this site, but reading through this post, if it was me, I would never be back here. This person seems to be asking a perfectly legitimate question and I think it is completely inappropriate to make fun of him for it; just my opinion. I don't want to offend anyone as well, but please don't respond to threads like this making a joke out of it, especially when someone is brand new who may not find humor in it.
