Best one I've heard came from a deputy I did a ride-along with.
Call goes out (forget what) to a house in Malibu. A few cars show up and Bruce Springsteen answers the door. He invites them in and offers them a drink. They politely decline being in uniform and all but he snaps photos with a few of them and signs some autographs and serves them all coke (the cola).
Of course I did a ride-along with the guy who was the backup on River Phoenix's overdose/death. That was a wild story.
In LA it's impossible to avoid them.

Some our guys were doing an early morning warrant on a house in Jupiter, Florida in the early nineties. One of the ones standing out in the street on perimeter had a guy come up behind him and ask what was going on. He turned around and it was Burt Reynolds in a bathrobe. They all ended up having their pictures taken with him,... in the bathrobe. :D

a congress man in SD was arrested for manslaugter earlier this year, after he was driving at a high rate of speed and didnt stop at a stop sign and hit a guy on a motorcycle and killed him, i forget his name though, i think the trial is still going on, iam not sure though
