Alright, I haven't had any tickets at all, and I plan to not have any, but I'm curious, how the heck do you guys remember all the laws? such as things you can right tickets for, and things you can't...

Well, for me its this way...
Radar numbers say red, numbers not what sign says they should be = ticket.
Just part of the job.

Remember those who died, remember those who killed them.
The Georgia State Patrol puts out a double sided cheat sheet that is a handy reference for code sections. And sometimes in the boring hours I'll flip through the code book and find a good one and then go looking for someone to stop for it. Kinda fun, actually.

cops are just good and know their stuff, kind of like military, marines know all about their history just like cops know all about codes.

I keep a list of the most common offenses in my cite book. Also keep a copy of the current vehicle and penal codes in my bag.
Oh! Well Thanks guys I appericiate the replys, Whats the best code book for my area, vehicle, and any other code book that a Sheriff has. I'm in the State Of Ohio, I'm just curious because I'm wanting to be a Sheriff and I figure if I get a jumpstart on memorizing the different codes then I'd be alittle ahead.
Well, since EVERYONE in town except me drives like crap...I wish they would just pass a law "234.887.c.3(d) Driving Like Crap" and get rid of all the rest. Then I would just have to learn one code! Oh, wait a minute, if they did that the code wouldn't be 234.887.c3(d), it would be 1. Wow that would make my life easier.
Trust me, it's not the jeans that make your butt look fat!
