Door-to-Door sales, etc

Ok, so I dont know about other parts of the country, but here in MA, the Christians like to go door to door on wekends and sell their religion on you (basically insulting, saying my religion is a bad decision, theirs is better bla bla bla)
But thats a rant for somewhere else.
So they come, and they are naturally very annoying, similar to telemarketers, but pose a differant threat being that they're at your door and could physicaly harm you.
Naturaly the safest and easiest thing to do is to not answer the door.
But at what point can you get the law involved?
I know you need to give them one chance to leave and not return (correct??)
But if they come back after expressly telling them not to return, what can you do?
What if its somone from the same "organization" but not the same person in particular returns?
When can you get a "no-tresspass" order? And will that cover that entire organization? Or just those parties in particular that were there that one time? (Relate it to a telemarketer, if you request they do not call, that applies to that entire company, not just the one nit-whit on the phone that day).
And a 2nd somewhat associated note. If you answer the door, and have a handgun in your hand (behind your legg or back or something, not pointed at or near whoever is there, clearly in a manor to be "friendly but protective", while opening the door,) is that illegal?

Hi im being friendly excuse the handgun behind my back, i'll only use it if you badmouth my religion. Do it once and i'll shoot you in the leg, do it twice and you'll be meeting your god a little sooner then you thought. :eek:

Post a sign at your door that states, "No soliciting, NO Preaching" If they come to your door, take any written material they give you. Give them verbal notive that they are NOT to be back on your property.

Mail a notice to the prganization on the paperwork, return receipt requested, informing them that any representatives on your property will be tresspassing.

If it continues, take legal action by contacting the prosecuting attorney in your area, and by filing a civil suit to obtain an injunction against them.

Or, relax. When they come to your door, thank them for caring about your soul, and tell them you are happy with your current religious beliefs. Then shut the door.

Ok thanks... lol well, the footnote about the gun i was curious about because the guy that lived in the house before me was telling me that one morning he was awoken by somone knockingon his door 3 times, he ignored the first 2, and on the third got his handgun and cautiously opened the door, with it behind is leg, and when he started yelling at the christian, he said he saw his eyes light up because he must have seen it, and said "sorry for bothering you" and never head from them again.
I do not own any guns, and ide take much more pleasure out of beating an intruder with a stick rather than shooting them... Ide never consider answering the door with a gun, If i feel i need one to protect myself, I sure wont be opening the door to invite the problem or escelate it...
ANyone know what I can do to get them away for good? If I post a sign at the end of my driveway saying "No tresspassing" or "No soliciting", can they then be arrested if they come to my door?
Maybe a "Beware of the dog" sign will work better :-)
I had fun giving them the Jewish speach once... until I realized they knew more about my religion than me, I just said "I gotta pee, ill be right back" *Looks outside* Yea he finaly realized I fell in and wont be returining to the door...

My community requires a permit to do any door to door solicitation, just post a 'no soliciting' sign. Oh yeah, and the gun thing...........bad idea

YEa i got your post while i was typing my first responce thanks... yea, i wonder if that permit thing is required in my commity, if i have time while sitting on my injured butt tomrorow maybe ill find out ...
