Hi! My debate line (not an opinion on either side!)
Do you think LEOs are sometimes cocky and believe they are God's all-supreme-beings who have special "powers" and are better than you?
I happen to think LEOs are good ppl. Thanks heroes!

I KNOW that police officers are just like everyone else, good, bad, and ugly. I have been fortunate enough to have many fine officers that I call friends.

Theres always bad apples in any profession.
I've run into plenty of both. Heres my most recent interaction:
Was waiting to turn right at a red light...another car was pacing me on the left to go straight before light turned red. A marked police car was behind him. As I stopped for the red...he just ran the light right in front of the cop. I started laughing as I saw the cop behind him just shake his head! Then we just both rolled down our windows and had a friendly chat about how stupid some people were to break the law right in front of him. He said that he doesn't even need to LOOK anymore because ppl don't even look over their shoulder before doing something stupid. He had a great attitude...and wasn't interested in being a hardass just because his position allowed it.
Seemed like a great guy![]()

Depends...I have met my share...trust me...and they don't like me either. But I don't think it is their job..I think their job just makes them worse...the problem always existed. However, they still put their life on the line, there is much respect in that.
Usually though....when you get down to the deep dark chocolatly layer they aren't so bad. ;)
I hate cops, they are jerks. :D
Just kidding. Some Cops I know are really great and some, well, not so great. And some totally change in and out of uniform. On duty they are the "Rough-and-Tough baddasses from hell" Then out of uniform they are the funniest person you will ever know.
But that is the way the ball bounces I guess.

Okay if we're going to get sensible. This is how it works in my own experience. Yours may differ.
First 12 months. Terrified of making a mistake. Terrified of lacking knowledge. Embarrassed at lack of experience.
1yr to 5 yrs. The teenage years. Knows everything. Can't be told anything.
5 yrs to retirement. Normality at last.

Now for something completely different!
Most law enforcement officers I know just loving dealing with Doctors; Lawyers and Volvo drivers!
Talk about people who think they are "...God's all-supreme-beings" and have over inflated egos. Sheesh!
