This is my biggest worry in the whole process. I've passed the initial character screening for the NYPD. I had to defer the Medical exam (would've been yesterday) because they were going to put me on med. review due to a car accident last month. I have to finish getting the results of MRI's, IME's etc. before the exam.
Personality - I've taken one psych exam for employment before (Not LE) and never got called for the job. This exam is the make or break when it comes to employment. I've heard all kinds of things about it, and done a little research on it. It was never intended for employment screening, but it's used to keep those with undesirable traits from employment.
I've heard you can't study for it, be yourself, be careful what you say, it's just common sense, etc.
What are the traits of a LEO? I am calm, collected, aggressive at times which can get you into trouble in the civilian world. I try to think before I speak and act, think of consequences etc. I understand police work is very stressful and the sights and situations are too much for some to deal with. I do believe this type of screening is necessary, but how can one get an idea if they are suitable or not? And some of the questions are out there..
I dont drink blood, kill cats, my parents dont need to be killed, I never wanted to kill them with an axe, and pencils don't watch me. Do they still ask these questions?
