yes its the white trash area, my aunt for example, lol. Alot of drugs too.
Yes there are places where 10 year olds smoke weed on the corner. And yes we do go there, BUT NEVER ALONE.
One night about 15 years ago the good citizens of a nearby
" PORJECT " decided they would throught a little party for a local officer who they believed liked his job to much.
When the officer arrived to hadle a prior theft call, they were waiting. They blocked is car in so he could not back out. Then they opened fire on is car with automatic weapons. Evidence showed that there were 10 different weapons used. Now they have a four car minimum when they go in. Funny thing was no one saw a thing.

I am currently working on the west side of Chicago and have worked in practically every district in the city. The thought of police not going into an area because it is a "ghetto" is unheard of. Although there are bad parts, I have never seen any that are like you described. I have seen kids as young as 10 selling drugs but it is not a common thing. I have arrested people carrying guns but have never been to an area where everybody has them holstered to their side like the Wild West. I have had bottles thrown at me but only on a few occasions. And please don't dare the real police officers to walk around in ghettos because some of us actually do on a daily basis.Originally Posted by itsdapopo
The worst places I ever saw as far as being too dangerous to go in alone were some of the housing projects in New Orleans like Desire, St. Bernard, Magnolia and others. No officer or agent I knew would willingly go into one of those places by themselves. In my agency, when we did go in, we usually preferred to have at least five or six guys minimum and a couple of shoulder weapons.
Desire, for instance, is huge and all of the street signs and building numbers are long gone. If you were to get in trouble there, you would have a very difficult time of describing where you were. You could not count on other units being able to find you quickly in a jam.
Miami and Baltimore also had areas that you were dangerous to go in. That doesn't mean you don't go if you are law enforcement. It just means you don't go in there stupid, unprepared, or alone.
There are some places here in Atlanta that I would NEVER go in alone. Unless a brother was down.
Miami Dade Police can qualify to keep a Remington shotgun (00 buck) or a carbine 227 in the trunk.
Never worked in a ghetto, we don't have them (correction, there is one in Sydney). Been in one though. First visit to the US and in Detroit, took a wrong turn off the freeway and was driving the rental car down a street with burned out cars and pretty dilapidated houses. Realise my mistake and stopped the car, hoped that it would not stall, did a reverse three-point turn and got out of there. Found the freeway and just kept driving. Eventually ended up in Ontario. :D
Nothing to say - taking the Fifth.
It is not a hard thing to do...LOL All the roads change...I have been lost a many a time...Originally Posted by oscarmitre

But they all have satalite (sp) dishes.
