    Field Interview Cards/Stops

I had a couple field interview cards filled out on me about 9-10 years ago. My question is how long does it stay on file? Am I privileged to this information? I live in California by the way.

I would not worry about them unless they were related to gang activity. Even if they were they probably will not ever come up anywhere. Most of them find there way to the trash after sitting on the floor of your locker for awhile.

I highly suspect that they are lone gone and if they aren't, I doubt anyone could find them.

I always use a FTI Cards at work. Everyone I question or have to stop for being a diphead gets a card on them, then a copy goes to my personal file for reference and the card itself goes in the office file for record, we have to keep them 7 years unless it's a felony then its till they die (college policy).

In California I know most agencies input Fi card info into a computer database. My question is, After a period of time, do they automatically erase after an expiration date or does someone manually go in to delete files that are old?

We file the card into records for who knows how long. Probablt forever in the event it would turn out to assist with a murder investigation or something.

    They area also electronically stored.
