Question Any Police Officers Here ever?

I was just wondering how many cops actually get tickets or somthing. So here are my questions:

Have you ever gotten a ticket? If not how do you avoid it?(do you flash your badge and say I'll be on my way  )
Have you ever gotten arrested?( I know cops get arrested for things like murder but somthing not so serious?)

I cant think of anything else but share any situations that you as police officers had to deal with the law with you on the receiving side.

    Thanks.

i've been pulled over before, but never recieved a ticket (i've never made it clear however that i was a cop). never been arrested, but one of our guys just got sent to prison (long story). had to deal with domestics where officers were involved. and had to deal with officers who were dwi. no special treatment.

My drivers license is terribly difficult to get out of my wallet. I would move it and make it easier, but it would be hard to justify having that badge hanging in plain view for so darn long.

since CCW people must inform the officer that they are carrying a weapon, i feel i shouldn't be less affected. i tell whoever it is, "just so you know, i have a weapon in the car and my badge and ID are in the console." that's pretty much what i get when i stop them as well.

when i was fresh out of high school, a couple local cops thought i was a sh*t so i had to deal with that. i got stopped for what i know now to be crap they made up. i wish i'd known then what i know now.

I would never use my posistion as a LEO to get off anything, if I do something wrong then I expect to pay the consequences, thats all there is to it.

I'm with PO1IC3M4N. When I've been pulled over, I always tell them who I am and that I have a weapon.
Yes it normaly gets you out of the ticket, but I am not doing it to try and influence them. I do it becasue I don't want a gun in my face if they see mine. Plus when I'm on the other end, I like to know every thing I can about the person I have stopped.

I should add that, since I almost always have a gun right by my leg, that it's not to get out of a ticket. Should have clarified that. I end up in some pretty rough neighborhoods sometimes and I would hate to have to explain it in a prone position.

To echo the sentiments of the others on this board, when I get stopped, I advise the officer that I do have a weapon and that my identification for the weapon is in my console. This isn't to by no means get out of the ticket, but to strictly inform the officer the same as I would expect when I am on duty. We don't want any confusion or mix ups if the officer sees my weapon.

Ditto. Mine is usually in the small of my back. I don't want to lean over to get the registration, and come back to a barrel in my ear.

I know that most cops won't write a fellow officer. But I know guys that say if you just shove it in my face and make a big deal or say I'm a cop and I will be on my way, they will get pinched just like joe blow.

We have had (unfortunately) quite a few officers here get arrested... some now serving prison terms.

Most of the time, the cops here get a free pass.
