    Secret Service

Does anybody have any information that would be beneficial to becoming a Special Agent in the Secret Serivce? I don't know much about it and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Ex. pay, is it competitive etc.
    Thanx

its highly competitve, first and formost you need a college degree, and fluency in another launguage would be a HUGE plus. that is what they are currently wanting is launguage traits. stay away from drugs as they have one of the more tougher drug policies among the federal agencies. they also have a uniformed division, which doesnt require college. visit the secret service web page for alot of good info. another good site to learn about LEO jobs is 911hotjobs.com they have an excellent job forums bored with tons on info and LEOS from local to state with just about every agency imaginable

anyone can have the basic knowlege about LEO prereqs, without working for that agency. you are an example. you work for the USPP, but obviously knew some basic facts about USSS, as did I. and I have been hired somewhere, start a may 3rd academy, weve been through that but you as usual only hear what you want. it was a basic question. and he got a basic answer.

nj50, this area's "Ask a Cop". You might want to refrain from jumping the questions here until you can actually get hired somewhere. Aside from the fact that you were booted off this forum and are now simply posting under a new name, you're not employed by any police agency and have no actual knowledge about LEO employment.

But, you have already given false information on this forum (about the "highway patrol" vs. "state police" job description), and insisted multiple times that you were correct when you were not. And editing your previous posts doesn't change that fact. So, maybe you should leave this section to the people who post facts, and not speculation or hyperbole.

i used porr words in the other post. so what. you challeneged it, i corrected it. there if you find more inaccurate information please let me know. if not, then oh well. you're making no sense. just because someone is a cop in some po dunk town in the middle of no where who has zero knowledge on the USSS hiring procedures, could comment on this thread because they are an LEO. but someone who has been in the USSS process and seen the steps, and who got DQ and who didnt cant comment. just because you are a cop doesnt make anyone the "oh great one". everyone gives a little misleading info every once in a while.

it is an assumption of yours, and a bad one that i have a bad background. i i just came off a good military tour, with a TS, and worked in the army CID office. just because i have strong opinions about something doesnt mean im a felon. i have never used another name to "spark up" an anti poly thread. i only respond to other sparks. just cause there are others that feel the way i do, doesnt mean all of those people are me. what do you honestly know about my background that allows you to justify that opinion? nothing cause you dont know me. just like i dont know you. my driving record is clean, ive never been convicted of any crimes, i have an honorable discharge with no military disciplinary action ever taken, and my credit is in order with a good work history. there you have it. the only thing you know is i didnt pass someones poly and i dont think the test is valid. as do many others. you assume all the rest. and we all know what assuming does. im also going back to CID with a reserve unit for a while. if i can get schooled before another deployment then i will be active again, then maybe i can hang with you. federal credentials and all.

All of your shenanigans where you've created false identities to spark anti-polygraph rants and circumvent the desires of the owner after you were banned have cost you your reputation here with us. Pity, but it was your choice, not ours.

The answer's "yes" and that's all there is to it. You were barred from this site and your posting ability was revoked by the owner. Your subjective value assessments and feeble justifications for your unethical behavior don't factor in, nor does the presumed conduct of anyone else affect your own culpability. The "everybody does bad things" argument doesn't wash, but apparently you're the type who will use that argument to justify just about anything you want to do.

Again, you were booted from this site. Until Jason restores your original posting privileges, you aren't supposed to be here.

not everyone believes that cops have all the answers like you. if there is any obsession here it must be you towards me. you cant stand it that im here, and i think its great. and as stated before im about 90 days away from getting out of the "groupie" status. so you have 90 days and counting. im sure it will urk you when you sign on one day and see a verified LEO tag. that should be a fun day.

So if you want to be our groupie, you be our groupie until you get banned again. It can't hurt us and it can only help you.

But be assured that any time you start holding yourself out as anything but a wanna-be, I'll correct you and comment on your actual status here to avoid giving new people the wrong impression.

Come On NJ ... you really think that a VERIFIED LEO status will change anything in your attitude...

I mean DC got a point.... you want to hang around find !!!! But at least be honnest and present yourself as a Wannabe .... And once you have the "VERIFIED LEO" status(if it ever happen).... then may be you will have seen then.... that following simples rules is part of the every day job.... It does start in simple area such as this forum...

In the mean time .... I suggest you leave the forum for a bit and improve your typing skills.... such as putting Capitals letter when starting a sentence

Joey, I don't care what you background is. Whether or not you got hired as a police officer is 100% irrelevant to this forum. You were BANNED from here, and in other words, they don't want you here anymore! For some reason however, you feel that you are above the law and can just reappear after being removed.

I think the people of this forum have the right to know who you are, because I sure as hell wouldn't trust information coming from someone who was banned from a police forum.

I am curious however, what departmend ended up hiring you? I am quite skeptical of that, and will continue to be until I see that "Verified LEO" tag.

no problem. DC just has to respond to everything. he always has to be right. and why is it you think i lack ethics???? cause i argue with you all the time. i was an NCO in the service. let troops into combat twice. i think ill be able to handle a lil police academy. and if you think you can make it that far in the service being imature, think again. i just love messing with you DC. you think life starts and stops on this forum. i think its great. why is it you say you will make sure everyone knows who i am. someone who got banned because of an opinion others dont agree with. why is it because you dont have that opinion they should listen to you over me. USPP knows everything now??? ball stops there huh? do you get beat up at work? and act all tough guy here?
