Lost 5 pounds the first month. Lost 20 over 6 months. It's the inches that count though.

Running, long time intervals of running, I've only been doing it for a week but my family says that they think I've lost weight. I cant really be certain about that since I never really weighed myself before. :p

5 pounds, as I have heard, is still too excessive for 23 days but different people lose weight in different ways. Besides keeping your excersize routine different and changing...so that your body never becomes conditioned...try changing one or two things about your diet.
Me for example. I switched to 2%, ditched chocolate for a while, and gave up red meat...I lost 30 pounds in one year. Though that proved to be too drastic for me. Now a days I just try to keep my biggest meal in the middle of the day, and prefer to work out in the morning so that my metabolism is going all day. I also have changed the quality of food that I am eating. I gave up all fried food 6 years ago too.
30lbs!? Were you down to just bones?!

I was down to about 90 lbs...yeah...then the vegitarian thing just made me way to sick...so I had to go back to eating meat. I was too young to attempt such a diet as I did it inaccurately.
Try eating small meals all day long. It sends your metabolism into warp factor 9. Not to mention its healthier for you. I eat a body builder type diet because i ama laways trying to get bigger and I manage to eat about 3500 to 5000 calories a day without gaining a pound. Its what you eat and how often you eat it that matters.
Losing weight isnt about changing the number on the scale, its about changing your entire life style. So many people diet and lose weight only to gain it back again. The changes they make are only temporary.

In a month, I lost 25 lbs. Went from 230 to 205. Happened my freshman year of HS when I joined the Wrestling team hehe. Lots and lots of running. (Never ran more than 50 yds before then). I still hate running because I suck at it lol.
I have lost 10 lbs in the past month. I went from 175 to 165. I run 3 miles a day 3 times a week, I started eating just fruits and veggies for 2 meals and a light meal at lunch... doing good so far. and I only drink skim milk. and no more sodas or other junk foods.
I lost 30lbs in three months ...
i've actually been on the weight watchers diet with my wife. we started it on january 1. i started out at 195lbs (at 5'8" thats a little much!) anyway to date i am down to 169-170 lbs. my ideal according to the weight watchers site is 158, i may stop at around 165 though. gotta have a little bit of cushion! lol
I do what I can do when I can do it.
Always remember that lean muscle weighs more than fat. Some people that start and exercise regimen start to lean out but stay the same size and actually GAIN a few pounds. At the start of the acad til about 3 weeks in, I lost about 20 lbs. (Men's weight varies much more day to day than the average women. It is not uncommon for a man's weight to vary 3-5 pounds over the course of a week) Then I started gaining again, but didn't seem to lose inches or anything...I was getting stronger. Pushups, Abs for 35 minutes 3 times a week, all that stuff started to shift the weight "loss" earned by the cardio, and I started developing my stamina. I am back up to about 70 pushups in two minutes, about 60 situps in the same time, while keeping a 1.5m run time of about 11 minutes, give or take (usually give lol) about 20 secs.
