alright this little kid from middle school is walking home from school pointing his fake gun at people. Should i call the cops and let them know cause it pisses me off, he pointed it at my UPS driver that was coming up to my house.

Depending on your state (I am from AZ) that is certainly illegal. Here, if the gun looks real enough to pass as a gun, and it is pointed in a threatening manner, you have a crime. Of course, I don't know the circumstances, so I can only assume people believe it is real.

Are people reacting with fear? If so, you should probably call the police.

ya but that kid can mess around and point it at the wrong person, either an off duty officer or a person who is crazy and thinks its real, then they get arrested or shot maybe killed.

Does anyone even remotely think that this gun could possibly be real, or is it a big orange Uzi? I remmebered some friends when I was a kid were filiming a movie with fake guns that looked real on top of their buildings' roof. Cops came and almost killed them. They deserved a good scare, maybe . . . but that is different from a little kid playing around IF, and only IF the gun does not look real at all, and the kid is not threatening people, etc.

If in doubt, though, you probably just should shoot him like 99TAC suggested. That is the safe choice. ;)

If it doesn't have an orange tip, how in the world do you know its fake? And better yet, how would a cop know its fake? I would think aiming a gun like that at the police is going to end with him getting shot.

He is walking home from school with it??? Well even if it is a Big orange uzi that has a green handle and a water tank hooked up to it, or if it looks like an H&K USP .40, you should call the police, or let his parents or school know. As far as I know, you cannot have anything of that nature at a school.

yeah, that sounds more serious. I would call someone. Not so the kid necessarily goes to jail or a fine, but so he learns an important lesson. There was a case (at least one) here in NY where kids were fatally shot with toys that the police mistook for a real gun.

I would think most cops would think twice before shooting a middle school kid because the gun, might be real. I would not care if it was justified or not, If I killed a 12 yr old kid, then found out he was playing with a toy gun, I would have trouble living w/ myself.

I don't think you can take that risk. Are school kids less capable of killing you? I don't think so. No room for taking a chance with a gun situation.
