Does anyone currently volunteer or in the past volunteered in police depts? When I turn 21 im going to do some volunteer police work for the county,I think it will be good experience for me . ( Suffolk County, NY).I know your duties are mainly traffic control and etc. when there are large crowds such as parades, just wondering if you have any "real" police powers such as arrest if you see something going on and just any other feedback about volunteer police work.
