    Indiana LEOs?

Question for all you Indiana LEOs out there. In Indiana, is FTA for a traffic infraction (NOT a misdemeanor) an arrestable offense? Here in Colorado, they just enter a plea of guilty in and sic a debt collector on you to get their money. I'm at work so I will explain the reason why later. If you don't want to post that info, PM is cool too.

    Couldn't resist 121. Sorry.

In PA if you FTA on a traffic ticket of any kind ( summary) , they will suspend your drivers license no matter what state you are from and issue an arrest warrant. We wont extradite you back from out of state for speeding, just suspend you.

If you are here and have a traffic warrant, including parking... 1st time you get arrested but will be released after a constable serves you with a field receipt, basically a slap on the wrist that costs you an extra $25 on top of your fine.

If you FTA on that , the seconf time you go see a judge, get an additional $25 added to your fine and may or may not be released.

3rd time is a charm. You either have the complete fine ( plus the additional $25) on your body, no checks or credit cards or you go to JAIL. If you can't pay, you can serve a day for every $40.

We have people who routinely serve time instead of paying traffic tickets.

For commercial Vehicles ( any fine or fines that exceed $250.00) I can seize the TRUCK and hold it as collateral until the fines are paid or until proper collateral is put up to go to court. If the fines/collateral are not paid in30 days, the truck is forfeited. Longest I ever went was 15 days.

    I'm in Indiana.

My brain isn't working right now, what do you mean by "FTA"?

I know that the traffic laws very from state to state but most state are part of what they call the "Compact." What this means is that if you get a ticket out of your home state the issuing state will notify you state of the offense. Almost all the states are members execpt for a few. If you are from a non-member state then the issuing state can take you DL as bond. It is kind of a complicated system to understand. I think it was developed inorder to deter truck drivers from getting CDLs from multiple states. It is also unique in that you can have a valid license in your home state but still have suspended driving status in another state if you have unresoulved traffic violations.
