What should I wear to an Oral Board

Do females usually wear a skirt suit or a pant suit? I work in a professional office so I know what attire is appropriate. I somehow think that a pant suit is better for this type of interview only because they get a "visual" of what you might look like as a Police Officer. And basically you are trying to sell yourself to them. Does anybody else think otherwise? Or have you seen or known of successful female candidates and how they dressed?

    Thanks
    Tami

i think the pant suit would be a great idea for the reason you gave. give them a visual of what you might look like in uniform.
I do what I can do when I can do it.

Professional looking pant suit would be fine.

Either will be fine as long as it looks professional and you aren't wearing anything that would be deemed too revealing.

I agree, pant suit would work.

Around our department, I only see the non-sworn support staff wearing skirts and dresses. The non-uniformed command (lt.s, commanders, captains) is wearing pant-suits.

I would want to be associated with the officers more than the support staff (secretaries).

Definately go with the pant suit.

I'm glad this wasn't a question of which beer t-shirt to wear! :D

I agree with the pant suit. You also should have your hair worn up like pony tail. It will give them a better visual. I worked at Salem PD in Oregon. Most of the female officers have pony tails. Good luck.
