    Question Who do I call?

I have a nephew (age30+) who is in and out of trouble with the law. He is labeled an habitual offender for driving while lic. sus. or rev. Under his last sentencing, he was placed under house arrest, whie transferring his info from jail to house arrest his last name was misspelled, thus creating a "new person". Say his name is Bob Surfing, it was transferred as Bob Sufring, only mixed the letters up. Ok, now while he was on house arrest, he recieved yet another ticket for driving, but because of the "new" name he slipped by being put in jail that day. He now has 2 tickets for driving, both during his house arrest time. ( Should have been a violation) I want to know who do I report this mistake to? I have called the sherriff, clerk of courts, judges, state's attorney, and the house arrest people. No one can help. I was told that he would have to be the one to report it, I don't think he is going to do that! I am trying to get this resolved, because he does go in front of a judge in 2 weeks and I want those records to cross. This person is a drug user while he is at home, his girlfriend and his mother are afraid of him. He has taken all the money, getting them evicted from their home and he has 2 little girls to raise. Can someone lead me in the right direction? THANKS !

You should contact his probation officer. He should be assigned one even if he is on house arrest. The probation officer can check in to any of the violations who mentioned because he can and usually do revoke his probation due to violations after being placed on probation.

Go in person to the office of the prosecuting authority (State Atty, DA, Prosecutor). Bring your proof with you. Ask to speak, in person, to the attorney assigned to this person's case. If the answer you get is
"unavailable" ask for an appointment, if the answer is no, ask to see the person in charge. Same for the probation office, but they often take their lead from the prosecuting authority.

You can always go to Court for his hearing, ask the Clerk to inform the Judge that you have evidence to bring before the Court, bearing directly on the matter being heard. That will get the attention of the prosecuting attorney. Be prepared to testify.

The 2 kids living with him - if drug use is present while children are present, a call to CPS may be in order.
