<bump....anyone?
Surely someone can share some advice to a really bad wantabe cop?
What do you think your problems were in failing the last time??
What have you done to prepare for this test??
I have graded quite a few, so I have a lil' experience in them.
Could you explain what kind of answers are expected. Are you supposed to act like a police officer in the situations (without training?) Or just try to be firm, calm, & fair when doing the responses? I am really curious as to how they work, and I won't be taking a test for over a year.. (wife is still in school, and I cant test until she graduates... her rules...)
Thanks.
You need to solve the problem, show compassion, offer assistance and so on.
You need to talk to the TV as if you are the officer on the scene. You tell the graders at the beginning of the taping if you have any LE experience or not so we can expect more from those with experience and possibly different answers.
One of the biggest problems is people thinking they can solve the problem in one quick 5 second answer when you have 30 sec. to respond. You need to use up most of the time offering solutions and trying to fix the problem.
Thanks for any further input.

oh, BTW...how would one "prepare" for this test? We didn't even know about the BPAD as applicants until the day of testing. We went straight from written, to physical, to BPAD. That was the first time I had even heard of it.
Sit in front of a mirror and respond to the scenarios you remember. You can also try videotaping yourself which may help even more.
Don't forget to wear the proper attire..........proper clothing and cleanliness is a necessity.
They do it all in one day. Written, physical, stand around and wait your turn for BPAD. No chance to clean up or change after the physical test.Originally Posted by rdp
