Stay away from Dallas PD at all costs unless you are broke. I live in Fort Worth, and I've never heard anything bad about the FWPD. However, I've never heard an officer say anything positive about Dallas PD. It is true, some officers were injured in a standoff from shotgun wounds, and they aren't receiving any money from the city.

you're not talking to the right people. they have some of the dumbest officers out there. i know of one night shift officer who fell asleep at 4am behind a building. he woke up 2 hours after he was supposed to get off. no one bothered to check on him. one officer dropped off his trainee so he could go get some action in the squad car at the back of the park. a couple of their rookies went to a bar down town, got drunk, and thought it'd be a good idea to bust off a few rounds DOWNTOWN!

i know a lot of FW officers. many of them are great, but there are plenty i really don't care for. they'll hire anyone.

i've never heard anything good about Dallas PD, they're dragging their *** on an old rape case that is very important to a friend of mine. as for fort worth i've only met classy guys from there...much nicer than i'd thought i'd find.
