If you all would be so kind as to list your department and what your approved duty and off duty weapons were. I'm trying to put together a list, thanks=)

In our department, all officers are issued a Glock 22, 40 cal. for a duty weapon. We are allowed to carry anything we want off duty as long as we qualify with it.
We carry GLock 23's in .40 cal and carry anything we want off duty as long as we can qualify with it.
We also have AR-15's and Remington 870's.
Creeper Cop
Issued is mainly a Glock 22 primary, Glock 27 backup. Shotguns are anything approved through the training SGT and you must qualify with it. Road Sgts and LTs are issued AR-15s. The list of 'approved' weapons in the SOP are;
Glock 22/40cal
Glock 23/40cal
Beretta 92/9mm
Glock 36/45cal
Glock 27/40cal
Norinco 12ga
Bushmaster AR-15/.223
There's also a clause about anything not listed must be approved through the Chief and you must qualify with it.
issued glock 32, M4, and 870.
whatever you want for backup.
possibly going to the FN Five-seveN soon as primary duty issue.
Not LEO but my friend is.
His department issues the Smith and Wesson 4506 (45acp). Off duty weapon must be .380 or larger caliber and can be anything you want as long as you qualify with it and it meets certain dept. criteria. "modern" 1911's are allowed for on/off duty as long as the officer passes a 2-day transition course and the qualification. About 30% carry a 1911 (Colt, Wilson Combat CQB, Les Baer TRS, and various Kimbers).
The city where I live are issued the Glock 22. Off duty weapon has to meet certain criteria (DAO).
Where my parent's live they issue the Sig P229 in 40. Off duty weapon has to be DAO.
Where my GF lives her town issues the Heckler & Koch P7M8 in 9mm (they are retiring their ancient P7's to Glock 23's by 2005). Not sure about their off duty.
Tiger is here for Mac!
AZ DPS uses a few Sig's (P229, 226, and 239, I believe) and nothing else. That is all you can use off-duty as well. I feel bad for the S&W auto users, we had a couple county guys in my Academy class with those, and they were such sub-standard pistols it made you wonder why any agency would want to use them.
