I was wondering what everybodies age was when they first became a police officer. Also, how long did it take you to get the job and how many departments did you apply to before you first got hired.

I was 26. It took me six months to get hired. I applied with two other departments.

24 when hired, 25 while in the academy. We had one 21 year old, and it showed. It really is amazing how much a couple years will do for some people... some people never grow up, I guess ;-)
