I was 28.
Graduated the academy when I was 21. I applied to about 10 departments. I ended up getting hired as a reserve officer by the first department I applied to, months later. I got a LOT of "thanks but no thanks" letters. I was certifiable, but zero experiance.
I ended up leaving that department after nearly 2 years later to go work for the dept I work for now. Only it was in the jail.
Some people get hired their first try, then there are those of us that have to work at it.

Cool to retire. We can retire 3/50. The max retirement is 90%. We can retire if we have more than 20 years on, but cannot receive any actual retirement money until the age of 50. I guess you have a better union.Originally Posted by HiTechCj
