My husband purchased an iPhone 4s from someone without checking to see if it was for the correct carrier. It wasn't. No big deal. Sold it to another college student across from our school. Went to get the money in a money order to pay rent and purchase a new phone from a store. Turns out the $600 he gave us was ALL counterfeit. The place confiscated the money, and filed a police report but did not call them. Good thing we didn't try to buy phone first. My husband then called the police to notify them. An officer met with him and flat out called him stupid for trying to sell the phone to begin with. The kid we had sold the phone too has placed several ads trying to sell the phone. We have tried getting in contact with him using other numbers and e-mails through the ad. We have the envelope the guy gave us the money in. It was from a bank. My husband thinks maybe he can turn it and and they can check it for prints. Which I doubt they'll do. Is there anything we can do?
