Will I get a chance to list stuff I want to be honest about before a pre employment polygraph?

The application and background check would be a good place to come clean and clear your conscience. All the skeletons in your closest will come out then.

They should go over the questions with you beforehand and if you think one will cause you problems, explain why to the examiner. Then the examiner can phrase the questions, "Other than _________, have you ever_______?" Sometimes fairly innocent stuff can trigger a deceptive response if it's not cleared up.

Very true. I've taken 3 polygraphs with 3 different agencies, and was nervous during each one (less with the 3rd than the 2nd, and less with the 2nd than the first). It's a nerve-racking experience because it's designed to be that way, but it's something you have to do it you want the job at an agency that requires it.
