File a report?
File a report?
Your question is too vague and incomplete
"Speed is fine, but accuracy is final" --Bill Jordan

Ok, Under what conditions would a police officer have to file a report if he revealed to an individual accidentally that he was under investigation?
Hmmm , file a report. Do you mean tell someone in charge of the investigation of what you have just done ?
And if so , do you mean do it in writing ?
Creeper Cop
yes
if you don't have a solid answer for my question can you do some research or ask someone?
How about you ask a solid question first?
Who is the "individual"? Who is under investigation, the officer or the "individual"? If it's the "individual", what is the "individual" under investigation for? Who is doing the investigating? How are the officer and "individual" related? How was the information "accidentally revealed"? What do you mean by "file a report"? Why or what requirements are there for the police officer to "file a report"?
Who are YOU? Why do you "need to know"? Is something happening in real life or are you writing a story?
Your question doesn't make sense, that's not how it works. A report is done whenever police investigate a crime, by the time a person becomes the subject of that crime an initial report has already been done.
This is a strange thing to ask, what makes you curious about this? Do you believe yourself to be the subject of a police investigation?

My new hero!
Wow, both you two turned on cop mode. It's a simple question, with what should be a simple answer. This is the internet and not an interrogation room.
No No No, who are you wanting to ask this information, I asked an easy question and I got a brutal response. It seems like this is all cops do.
If a suspect is called a target, and investigation is underway. And The subject was never interrogated, or arrested that day, Do they need to tell the person in charge of the investigation what happened, Is there documents that need to be written up? Paper work?
No.

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
Seriously you don't?
that makes absolutely no sense
So what happened if your lifes destroyed because of it and they can't find any information?
I can't believe this!
It just seems to unreal.
