We're getting Caprices, we already have two on the road. It was about time that Ford stopping making the Crown Victoria, I'll never understand why officers were such fans of these heavy, slow, poor-manuvering cars.

I just got a brand new Dodge Charger last week. That thing is a rocket, so much better than the old crown vics. The only problem is getting use to it's power compared to what I've been driving the last 12 years, plus the visibility out of the rear sucks.
Excuse me Officer, I have a stupid Question. "No problem, I've got a stupid answer for you!"

I've never driven the 2006+ model Impala but I've always maintained that the two biggest issues with the Impala was that FWD and police cars don't mix and that they are too small for police use. The new Caprice will change both of those issues.

The 2012 Impala is supposed to have the same V6 that the V6 Camaro has with like 300+ horsepower. That sucker should move. The V6 Caprice will have that engine as well I believe.

The 306 horse V6 is over 2 seconds faster to 60 mph than the V8 CV.

Oh god! that's just what some of the officers out here need is more speed and acceleration in their cruisers... *shakes a little in fear*

Based on your other thread and how you say they drive if I were the Chief I'd be switching over to a fleet of these: 2012 Chevrolet Sonic | Small Car | Chevrolet

    1.4 Liter turbo, 138HP baby

:D that just made my night! may good reputation befall you and your family! but yea, some of those guys...just scare me, and i'm a TEENAGE driver so that tells you something. Not all of the officers are wild drivers but so far for me the percentage is about 65% incredibly dangerous. Maybe it's my perception, maybe the guy is trying to scare me but it seems that i have bad luck with the guys i ride with often. Maybe this would stop us having about 3 cruisers in the shop a month for engine damage or a wreck or some other issue involving user error.

For 2011 the impala was the only car on NYS Bid as far as I saw, We were able to get some left over chargers off of the 2010 Bid. I know they just ordered three more impalas ( I hate these cars so much ) I would like to try out the new Caprice and the ford. To me It would make sense to have Chargers or Caprices with a Mix of 4wd Tahoes in the there for bad weather or backwoods use.
