    Women on the job

I heard from a friend that women don't get the same amount of respect as men do as appose people thinking that women can't handle it or making detective or even FBI. Is it true or is this just some myth.

    "As appose"?

When I entered the academy way back in the olden days of 1983 women were accepted in LE. We had female FTOs, detectives, high ranks, etc.

Cops look at other cops solely based on their ability to do the job in my experience.

When we look at other cops, we don't see race, we don't see gender, we don't see age, or politics, or religion or anything else.

We have to trust each other with our lives; external considerations tend to pale beyond that.

Contact any agencies you're interested in, see if you have the minimum qualifications and apply. You'll be just like anyone else going for the job, the higher you score, etc., the sooner you'll be hired.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Completely depends on the department. My wife gets a good bit of "anti-women" sentiments at the Sheriff's Office she works at, mostly by people that don't really rate so it's not much skin off her back. I'm at a municipal department in the same area and I don't think I've ever seen a woman officer treated differently, simply based on the fact that she was a woman.

At my agency, good cops are good cops and ****ty cops are ****ty cops. Gender doesn't come into play.

Fill out an application, can't get hired without doing so.
