Question Pellet Gun Ownership by Felon in Texas?

Can a convicted Non-Violent Felon in Texas buy and own a Pellet Gun and Rifle legally? I am looking for any kind of protection I can find to help protect myself from any violence that may erupt in this country due to any number of scenarios.

Just understand that a pellet gun will not be effective in the scenario of a zombie invasion.

Try silver pellets... No, wait, that's for vampires. Never mind.

There is no law in Texas preventing felons crom possessing pellet and bb guns.

Moved to regular Ask-A-Cop section since it seems to be a real world situation.

Okay, ya got me there. But he didn't specifically say he was writing a story / screenplay / novel about it, so out of the Writer's Questions it goes!
