I received a citation of harassment for a road rage incident that I was involved in a couple of days ago in the state of Pennsylvania. The other party ran through a stop sign, stopped their vehicle in front of mine when I honked my horn and rolled down their windows and begun to yell at me telling me that I should watch where I was going and that I shouldn't be in a rush. I had gotten out of my vehicle and kicked their car barely hitting it since I fell to the ground in mid kick. The driver of that vehicle got out and hit me across the temple breaking my glasses. As I was getting back up he continued to threaten me and say that he should do worse if it wasn't for my kid in the car, and then proceeded to hit me again. After every hit he would position himself near my kids side of the car. After the altercation was broken up he continued to follow me and taunt me as I tried to get away. I did not hit him once. Another thing that was bothering me was a couple of the police officers said they would have done the same thing the other party did if in that position. They also said that it was all my fault that this had happened even though I got punched in both temples my neck my jaw and the back of my head, as well as put into a choke hold. I have not been told what happened to the other party. I was diagnosed with anger issues when I was younger (12 or so) and had since seen no re-occurrence of those issues until this incident. After this incident I did seek out a therapist and have already set my first appointment to see if this was a once and done or if my issues are starting to resurface. I was wondering a few things in this situation:
1. What is the best advice for the summons in this situation?
2. Should I include the information about my past history as well as what I am currently doing about it?
2. What would this appear as if found/plead guilty on my background checks?
