I always wonder what the best part of being married to a police officer is. I like police officers, at least some of them. I think it would be so neat to be married to one. All the exciting things they get to do. All the the things they see and know. So if you're married to a police officer, what's the best part?

Christy,
Cops are just people. They wear street clothes when they aren't at work, and have families just like everyone else. If the uniform impresses you, what about the people that work at Mobil stations? Or McDonalds? Do they excite you too? They have interesting days just like the rest of us, and sometimes, their day is better than a cops day.
Hi !!
Good answer "stump" ;-) I have many friends that are cops and they really are just normal people. Everyone, cop or not can be nice and fun to be with. Just as everone can be ugly or good looking. There are nice people and cool people everywhere.
Take care,
eric

Well, I can't help what I'm attracted too. I'm far from being a bunny. I'm wwwwaaaayyyy too shy for that. I've never thrown myself at any guy for that matter. I like the job, maybe thats what I'm really attracted to.

Hi Christy! I've been waiting to reply to you for a long time but didn't think there was a good oppurtunity until now. Well I am married to a police officer and we have only been married for about 9 months but together for 4 years. He's a very handsome man and everyone says he's the best looking in the whole dept. and of course I agree. Being married to a police officer has it's benefits ( I didn't mean for it to sound like that) but for the most part it's very hard. Long hours on the job. Like when I get off my job at 5 p.m. he is going in to work for a 12 hr. shift. We don't get to see much of each other but the time we do spend together is always wonderful. I think the thing that the average person doesn't understand is that being a police officer is just a job and that they are like everbody else. When he gets off work and takes that uniform off he does the same as anyone else. Normal life! And something else I wanted to point out... He doesn't get all that attention when he's in regular street clothes like he does when he's in uniform. I guess it's something about the handcuffs and the power that attracts some women to police officers. Just kidding! Well maybe not! J
The last girlfriend I had hated my job. Said quit or she would leave. She left. I needed to eat.

Hi Everyone,
I guess the best part about being married to a police officer is...the pride I feel when I think about what he does. However, the last 8 days reminded me of the downside of his job. In 8 days, we have had 4 officers shot here. 1 killed, and 2 in critical condition. I called my husband at work last night...just to hear his voice for a moment. I go on many ride-alongs with him, so I know he does his job well. He is also very careful. However, the unexpected still happens. I thank God every day when he comes home. I'm glad to find another web site of this type. Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I plan to.

Collarhound.... dont feel so special anymore do ya?? LOL LOL
Christy... NEAT??? Are you serious... i mean dont get me wrong, when my boyfriend has the uniform on, I GOT NUTS!! And yeah its great to say "Oh my boyfriend is a cop... " but think about it.. if you can handle it.. go for it!! The fact that my boyfriend is cop is secondary... the fact that he treats me like I am a princess.. THATS THE BEST PART.... But its a tough job!! And yeah its such a turn on that he is a cop with the whole "power" thing.. i hear what you are saying and yes IT is a HUGE turn on.. but think of the big picture!!! If you meet a guy and he treats you great and you like him and he is a cop ..then that is great and good luck to you.... but dont go out looking to snag a cop.. b/c its not what you think it is!! Sorry but thats my opinion.
My $0.02, I'm not sure I would want to be with a girl who only wants a relationship with me only because of what I do. What happens if I get hurt or have to resign for some other reason ?. Thats as hollow as marrying someone who drive's a fast car.
Besides, where do you hang out anyway - most of the girls I know HATE police officers or are afraid of them. Send some of your police groupies this way !!!!!! LOL (badge bunnies has a nice rings to it) (ONLY KIDDING) :D
Im just wondering if you (christy) would be so upbeat when he comes home after a bad day or a couple of bad days.....or when everything isn't happy go lucky down at the station...or when he's out and about and NOT in uniform....etc, etc. If you want to love a man/woman who is a LE officer you have to take the bad along with the good. Just my 2 cents worth.

It takes a very special person to be involved with a police officer. I'm only speaking from what I have seen and heard from friends/ co-workers. I wish both of you the best, and that you will be together for a very long time.
I asked my kids what the best part of dad being an officer was.
Thay said it was having a cop car parked in the driveway and no one would want to rob us.I love my husband but they do work a lot of hours my hubbbie works 10 hour days.
But it is cool when I have time to go on ride alongs with him.
