Davis was pistol whipping a Black homeless man for a beer when off-duty officer Mark MacPhail came to the homeless mans aid. Before he could draw his weapon, Davis shot MacPhail including one shot to his face as he stood over him. Shell casings tied an earlier shooting that Davis committed to the execution of MacPhail. Blood stained underwear was also found at Davis' mothers' house that tied him to the shooting but it was suppressed at trial due to a technical error with the search warrant (on edit: the issue was with interpretation of consent that mother gave to SWAT team looking for Davis). The smoke and mirrors about him being innocent is just smoke and mirrors. "No physical evidence" seems to be more nonsense. Davis was given an extraordinary chance when the Supreme Court granted him a chance to present his case for innocence to a federal judge. The judge was not convinced and every court has upheld the conviction after hearing evidence.

In other news, white supremacist killer of James Byrd was executed. While there is less evidence directly linking Lawrence Russell Brewer to killing Byrd than the evidence linking Davis to MacPhail, there was no noticeable opposition to Brewers execution.
Both men are roasting comfortably in the special hell reserved just for people like them. Good riddance. If only their method of execution matched the method they chose to use.
