Hi,

I took the NYPD entrance exam about 2 years ago, scored a 97 on it. about a month or two ago they finally get back to me and want me to proceed with the hiring process, so i submit my paperwork/life story, etc. I guess everything went OK wtih that because I just received notice that they want me to report for interviews/testing, etc in about 3 weeks. Usually I would be thrilled. Only problem is, about a year ago I moved to Taiwan to work as an English teacher for a while and I don't think I can make it back in timei.....don't really have the time or money right now.

Do you think it'd be possible for me to either delay coming back for the interviews/screening process until closer to December? From what I've been told I am being evaluated for an academy class set to begin in February. Would it be more likely that I'd have wait until the next academy class to start? Would I just be dropped from consideration altogether?

Any advice appreciated....particularly any pro's/con's of this I mgiht be missing.

Thanks

Once passed over, you are up for that class and they put you back in the pool for next class. If you exam expires, this may be your only shot.
