First off I would like to say thanks to all who share their knowledge on here.

I am currently 22 in my senior year at Penn State majoring in Crim with a minor in Psychology; I expect to graduate with about a 3.0 gpa. A little background: During high school and through my first two years of college I worked on a farm where I was never late and my boss was always pleased with my work however one night me and some buddies were going muddin so I took a chain from the one shed at the farm to use in case we got stuck; since that time I have returned it. When I was 18 in college I smoked mj just one time and never did anything else. When I was also 18, some friends and I got cited for a summary criminal mischief for throwing eggs at cars (very stupid I know). Never had any traffic citations, have great credit and have never been in any sort of trouble since. Last year I completed a 4 month internship at my counties Probation Office and for the last couple months I have had a security officer job at a large hospital in the area. My ultimate goal is PSP but I will apply at some local depts after I complete my degree as well. How big of hinderances will those couple stupid mistakes be? Thank you.

You'll be find, IMO. You need a little more time to mature, but you should be fine.

Almost everybody does the " stupid kid stuff". You are not the exception. But what you have decsribed is something you need to disclose but hopefully your GPA / degree and otherwise your stellar lifestyle will make it readily apparent that you are not who you were a few years ago.

You didn't do anything I didn't do as a juvenile (and being from the south I know all about muddin' :yesnod:), and I've been able to gain employment with 4 reputable LE agencies. As advised above, be upfront about these things but don't worry about them to be seen as too big of a problem since they aren't recent or too serious.

Can somebody explain to a northerner what the hell "muddin'" is?

Big taaars (tires) on your truck in open muddy fields. Land version of speedboats/jet skis.

snappertrapper,
I wont say anything that the guys have not already said... Sounds like a normal childhood/teenage years to me. I know I had a few things I had to explain why I did them as a teenager.
