We have had AT& T for a number of years. ON the family plan we have the 700 rollover minutes with the unlimited texting. For 5 phones with taxes we are paying nearly $170.00 month. With all of us over 18 ( and one a thousand miles away) it is quite handy , but it is $170 month. We end up giving away many minutes a month because we dont use the rollover enough. We can save $10 a month dropping to 550 mins a month but that isn't worth it.
After looking over our bill and useage coupled with me having a 24/7 unlimited phone from my new PT employer , we have decided to go to AT& T Go Phone ( prepaid).
They offer pre-paid service of .10 cents a minute and 1,000 texts a month for $9.99.
Based on our useage , if we even mirror our historical useage , we will be WELL under the $170 a month.
Looking at my current bill , we pay about $30 a month in taxes alone.
Pre-paid has NO taxes. Sure you have to buy a phone up front and the nice phones are $60-$100 but we will save in the long run.
I have no credit issues to have to go on a pre-paid plan but it simply is cheaper with the same level of service.
