This is incredible, not only for the good of getting this scum off the streets, but that this happens with such regularity that for every one they caught, there were many many more who chatted online but didn't show up. Short excerpt below:
Twenty-four of 25 men arrested in a police sting reminiscent of NBC's "To Catch a Predator" television program remained in jail Monday.
The Pensacola Police Department arrested the men from last Thursday through early Monday after they went to a Northeast Pensacola home after allegedly arranging to have sex with 12- to 14-year-old boys and girls through online social networking and e-commerce sites.
Unknown to the men, the arrangements they made were with undercover officers posing online as children, Police Chief Chip Simmons said.
One by one, the men were arrested after ringing the doorbell of a home that police had rented for a month and outfitted with seized furniture and video and audio equipment. They were greeted by several officers who immediately wrestled them to the ground and handcuffed them, then seized their vehicles.
Simmons said he was stunned by the response.
"For every one who was arrested, we probably had four who were in communication with us," he said.
